52w. 52 weeks ago. This is what Instagram tells me regarding the flower picture I found when I was looking at my old Instagram pictures. "The Flower is so soft it's like you're patting a kitten," was literally what Kam said as she patted the red flower before taking pictures that day.

I couldn't find my journal entry for that particular day but I know these are pictures from sometime around October because even though photos of Kam's outfit weren't made into a blogpost, she indeed included mine in her third blog post, most probably because it was the time when I started warming myself to her colour palette again.

Speaking of which, do you notice how time's been going so fast this year? Too fast, even. I mean, look! An instagram post from around 52 weeks ago. Kam's third blog post that dated 01 October 2014. All of these indicates that another year has passed, which means after this semester, my friends and I, Ewha students that started school on fall 2013 will only have less than two of university years left.

A lot of things happened during these 2 years. And honestly, as much as I want to retain each and every memory of things I experienced, I can't. Or even if I managed to maintain some of them, I don't know if I can really trust them. Not only because human's memory is as limitless as it is, but also because I haven't made enough efforts to find answers to questions like what memory is really is, how does it really work, and why and how it differs for each person. Still though, I want to remember, because in a way, we are what we remember, conscious and subconsciously. Maria Popova writes in one post, "your very identity depends on all of the events, people and places you can recall." Wouldn't it be awesome if we can recall a specific memory and pinpoint which specific course of event that shapes our particular, habits, fears, personalities?

Ahh, I was a rambling again, but bottomline is, life lessons, challenges and opportunities we took and let go, relationships we have, they are all good. But do you know what's more precious? Being able to recall, ponder upon how they have shaped us into the very people we are now is. That way we can preserve shared memories and give out words of wisdom derived from our mentors, teachers, mentors. And this is where social medias, journaling, blogging, photography, videography come into hand. Since we cannot rely solely on our brain to remember, writing them down either in forms of pictures, videos, or words surely help.

Hm. I'll treat my journal better from now on.
